Honest to Goodness Final Update on Mod3

Ok so I couldnt put the damn assignment down I admit it. This is the final copy im sending to the print shop. I got some other opinions and it makes more sense that the logo be more prominent. Ads require their product seen first, even if its the only thing they see. So I boosted up the size and gave a little more airspace for the text. Leave a comment if you like heh..

Texture Images

For the assignment Tedford gave us we had to find for texture types in photography and draw the one we thought was best. Heres my images...

Forgotten, Peace, Decay, Elegance. Ive chosen to sketch out the forgotten texture with the charcoal. It looks like this... At the bottom...

Rushed to Finish?

I've been thinking about my third module project, the magazine ad. Something seemed a little off, not sure what. My girlfriend told me that the company logo's in the bottom right were too large, and almost distracting from the image. I think I wanted to add some more vector art behind the back layer, to give it more of a three dimensional look.

Sigh! Back to work!

Module 3 Done

Yeah I finished it the same night I got it. Had too much fun with it. Oh well. Heres an image of the finished product. I didnt leave room on it to put my class info and anything so I need to ask Joe if its alright to put my name and stuff on the back heh. Oh well, sure he wont mind. Took me about 3-4 hours total to finish this and it was damn fun. Need more of these projects please!

Module 3

Well I set off quick to finish this project and since my game servers were down, I honestly had nothing better to do. I tried to do my magazine add on a game I used to play a long time ago. The art and text worked good for my ideas. Heres a peek.

Board Finished

Well I got everything done and on time to boot. Was worried there for a while that I may not have the print job done in time. The actual print job only took a few hours apparently cause they called me back to pick up my print the same day. (I guess that would have been around 8 o clock if i dropped if off at 4) This project also helped me discover how to make 3 dimensional objects in illustrator (my ice cubes, and I can also do cylinders wewt!) which really helped my project along. However it did make a ton of layers for each cube which made the file size huge, but what can you do.

A few things I noticed while working through this project that I will change next time around.
[Foamcore] I can't get over how great this stuff makes things look. I just have to remember to stock up on razor blades before slicing up a nice project.
[Flattening the Image] When I flattened my board in photoshop it drew a black line in the middle of my print. I didn't notice it until it was already printed. Im going to have to check closer before I send it to be setup. If I spot something I know I can try and clone over the errors if it happens again.

Overall I think it turned out pretty decent. Andrew said it made him thirsty when he looked at it which made me laugh. Hopefully I get a decent grade on it. Ill put up the print copy when I get home tonight.

Cheers

Skate Deck Work

Heres a bit of my skate deck work. Im trying to do a snow based board. Either like a winter storm or almost like snowboarding. Since some people consider them close to the same, just on a different surface. I changed the brush strokes on the vector objects to make it ook more like snow.

Module 2!

Heres a bit of the work im doing for DMA 101. We were required to take a logo and trace it. Once we vectored the image we had to come up with several effects in photoshop for the logo.

Here are 5 of my effects. There were suppost to be 6 of them but when I converted one to RGB for the web it changed a bunch of colours. So heres 5 of them. Click on the image and it will load a quick slideshow of the 5 images. Enjoy!
